I’M NOT SATISFIED The world keeps making fun of my lifestyle Taunting me in front of my face There’s nothing that I’d rather do now Other than to break out and find a new place But I don’t know where to go A lock is on every door I keep finding ants on my shoes Distracting me from all the bad news and god awful truth Well, I’m not satisfied no matter how I try Not satisfied someone keeps stealing my dreams I’m not satisfied It’s so hard to believe that the end still justifies the means I’m not satisfied no matter how I try Not satisfied someone keeps stealing my dreams I’m not satisfied It’s so hard to believe that the end still justifies the means I used to brush off obstacle losers Blew them off like they weren’t there I had myself a magnetic partner Opposites who had an affair But those days are gone for sure Only shadows of what’s in store Show me where my future will lie In emptiness too deep to deny the god awful truth I’m not satisfied no matter how I try Not satisfied someone keeps stealing my dreams I’m not satisfied It’s so hard to believe that the end still justifies the means I’m not satisfied no matter how I try Not satisfied someone keeps stealing my dreams I’m not satisfied It’s so hard to believe that the end still justifies the means So maybe I ought to ditch this life Give up this pointless fight Accept the negative that’s all around me I wonder if my luck would change Or maybe it would stay the same with ants on my shoes I’m not satisfied no matter how I try Not satisfied someone keeps stealing my dreams I’m not satisfied It’s so hard to believe that the end still justifies the means I’m not satisfied no matter how I try Not satisfied someone keeps stealing my dreams I’m not satisfied It’s so hard to believe that the end still justifies the means

Look At Me! 02:59
LOOK AT ME! Cup of coffee I tried to smile at you right when I walked in Didn't see me Too busy checking your mail, your likes, your watch, your crotch Look at me I'm really somebody you should see Baby imagine what we could be But first you gotta just... Hey (Hey!) Hey (Hey!) Hey (Hey!) Look at me You'd see my face if you would put your Facebook down One more coffee I'll keep on drinking until you turn around I see you watching your feet, your tweet, the street Is there someone you meet? And you're fixing your hair, the chair, the stare and your face in the glare Look at me I'm really somebody you should see Baby imagine what we could be But first you gotta just... Hey (Hey!) Hey (Hey!) Hey (Hey!) Look at me C'mon! Look at me! Yeah, look at me And tell me what you see OMG Delete the selfie and friend me like it was One more coffee My heart is beating like crazy with this buzz Now you're checking your snap, your app, your chat and I'm right in your lap And you wait on your phone for the sound of the tone And you're still all alone Look at me I'm really somebody you should see Baby imagine what we could be But first you gotta just... Hey (Hey!) Hey (Hey!) Hey (Hey!) Look at me! Yeah, look at me Yeah, yeah, yeah, look at me! Yeah, yeah, yeah, look at me! Yeah, yeah, yeah, look at me! Yeah, yeah, yeah, look at me!

My recently departed musical friend Dr. Dave had written a song that I thought was quiet good but which didn't have any discernible chorus.
Not that a song should have to have a chorus but in this case the accessibility of what he wrote seemed to be screaming for one.
So as politely as I could, I asked him if it would be cool for me to tinker around with his tune and maybe add something to it. He said that would be fine, probably thinking I was just bullshitting. I went home that night and knocked out the "I'm not satisfied" hook. The next rehearsal, much to his surprise, I played for him a quick demo of how my chorus would work in his song. He sat down and listened intently. When it finished, he took a deep breath, flashed a warm smile and asked me if he could have the CD demo to listen to in his car. He needed to think it over. A few weeks went by and when we finally played his song again he kept to his original idea. I asked him about my addition and he kind of scooted around the issue and said something to the effect that he'd have to learn it but was too busy. I didn't press the issue. No matter. I just took my chorus and wrote a new song around it. And so it goes.
R.I.P Dave.
