about

This is a project Blake Seals (some people know him as Nicholas) had been threatening to do for many years. He finally came over to my studio and we started messing about on the computer. I showed Blake some of the basics to music making on Logic Pro and he picked up on it pretty quick. He then proceeded to get his son Dylan involved. Dylan was pretty hip to the computer software I was using and he instantly started adding his tasty ideas to the basic tracks Blake and I worked on. Blake had a concept in mind in doing these pieces. Some of the concept involved para-phrasing some of the lyrics found on the Canadian band, Rush's "Fear Trilogy". Even a vague homage or two to some of their music can be heard here. Since I don't know much Rush music a lot of the references went over my head. That was OK. I still learned a great deal about EDM music from Dylan and it was great to see Blake come to the studio so enthused to be working on audio art. I was glad I could afford him that opportunity.
