DALAI LAMA TOWN Wait around for years or search a lifetime
The perfect punch line may never hit you back
The joke is that each moment is for living
Until the writer types “fade to black”

 From sun to moon
 The sky is there
It never takes a bow
 From night to noon
 The big affair
Is rockin’ whether you are around

Movin’ down thru Dalai Lama Town
 (Dalai Lama Town)
Hoping to find my reality way beyond the clouds
Movin’ down – my last decision – leave my past behind
 Sikh in Dalai Lama Town
 Dalai Lama town

To question is the best of all religions
Surprised as pigeons when they finally hit the fan
That’s when we need a dose of Instant Karma
To free the farmer from a field of sand

 From sun to moon
The sky is there
It never takes a bow
 From night to noon
 The whole affair
Is rockin’ whether you are around

Movin’ down thru Dalai Lama Town
 (Dalai Lama Town )
Hoping to find my reality way beyond the clouds
Movin’ down – my last decision – leave my past behind
Sikh in Dalai Lama Town
Or some exotic phrase that means the same

 Crush all boxes
 Don’t play the fool
Everything you think – you "am"
Tell the bastard trying to keep you a slave
That you’ve got other plans From sun to moon
 The sky is there
 It never takes a bow
 From night to noon
 The whole affair
Is rockin’ whether you are around

Movin’ down thru Dalai Lama Town
 (Dalai Lama Town)
Hoping to find my reality way beyond the ground
Movin’ down – my last decision – leave my past behind
Sikh in Dalai Lama Town
Where dunderheads and wise men pray in line
They say it makes a difference when ya die

That remains to be seen
 That remains to be seen
That remains to be seen
That remains to be seen
 That remains to be seen

Lemon Whirl 04:07
LEMON WHIRL I'm brainstorming new recreation So casually I'll throw you this idea It kept jumping out from my list of things for a past time In the spring time A lemon whirl could make us happy A lemon whirl might set us free There's nothing like candy quite frankly in your down time To ease the mind The blood behind your cheeks is draining And paint you a reluctant volunteer But think of it as just a new accessory for your collection Of confection A lemon whirl could make us happy A lemon whirl might set us free Sometimes there's no food in the pantry in your down time To ease the mind But diamonds and bling and fashion magazines Are all you seem to want to understand But let me turn your nights on so you can see The kind of whirl you're missing with this man Yeah, the kind of whirl you're missing There's nothing like candy quite frankly in your down time To ease the mind A lemon whirl could make us happy A lemon whirl might set us free A little extra candy is dandy in your down time To ease the mind I'm gonna get real close so you can hear what I'm saying. Hum... Me You And a lemon whirl Me You And a lemon whirl Me You And a lemon whirl Me You And a lemon whirl Me You And a lemon whirl Me You And a lemon whirl SD: Seriously? Ha,ha,ha In a lemon whirl Me You And a lemon whirl

Free Man 04:32 video
FREE MAN Little sister wave goodbye I ain't comin' back no more
Little sister don't you cry Save your tears and close the door
I'm gonna be a free man Lay my bones on rolling water I'm gonna be a free man Watch me rove across them borders
Oh the places I will go In my favorite ramblin' shoes
Have my Winter Fresh™ in tow While I shake the hand of someone new
I'm gonna be a free man Lay my bones on rolling water I'm gonna be a free man Watch me rove across them borders
Just wanna be a free man Though I'm full of rules I can't escape
Like a thorn in the side It keeps you occupied It keeps you occupied
The world is mine to fill my head until my memory’s almost full Little sister before I’m dead I’d like to ride that golden bull I'm gonna be a free man Lay my bones on rolling water I'm gonna be a free man Watch me rove across them borders
Just wanna be a free man Though I'm full of rules I can't escape
Like a thorn in the side It keeps you occupied Ahhhh hah Ahhh It Keeps You Occupied It Keeps You Occupied I just wanna ride etc…

LOOK OUT FOR JOHN CLEESE Look out
Look out for John Cleese
Working on “The Week That Was”
He wrote some jokes for David Frost
 There on the BBC, boy
 Minus the law diploma
 Revered by his dad
who tried to give the squeeze

Look out
 Look out for John Cleese
 A thing I bet you didn't know
 before the "Flying Circus" show
His name was really Cheese (Yeah, that‘ s right)
His family didn't like it It didn't seem right to have a surname reflecting the acrid
Reviews might be rabid with standards set so high
So he spent a long time...

 Locked up in some room
 With Graham Chapman every day
 Avoiding any weak cliche
Searching for the laugh to finally send us 'round the bend
Doubling over with a ruptured spleen

But after that it wasn't too long before our Johnny started getting restless
 He left the “Python” show
but stayed for “Life Of Brian” and “The Holy Grail”

Look out Look out
 Look out for John Cleese!
There had to be another way
A charming place for you to stay
Located in Torquay, boy
 Long lists of cheese aromas
were putting him in a coma
Silly walking or an angry distress He owns it whatever the roll
So tell me he won't come to an end
‘Cause that would leave a Cleese shaped hole So look out for John Cleese Look out for John Cleese Look out for John Cleese, please! Look out for John Cleese Boy!

Ugly Fucker 03:37
U.F. Dr. Frankenstein : It's alive! IT'S ALIVE! Look at that ugly fucker what happened to him Was he cursed by the heavens above Look at that ugly fucker he’s got the kind of face that only a mother could love Look at that ugly fucker what happened to him Was he cursed by the heavens above Look at that fuckin nutter inside his basket case And once is more than enough But good fortune fell upon him by the way of Circus Roads
They put him in a cage and dressed him up in retro clothes
And soon a wealthy watcher saw potential in this freak
Got’em plastered in the tabloids, TV shows and frosted wheat
Now all us ugly wee folk have a new a hero we adore
And those perfect looking airheads are the ones we now ignore Look at that ugly fucker what happened to him Was he cursed by the heavens above Look at that ugly fucker he’s got the kind of face that only a mother could love Look at that ugly fucker what happened to him Was he cursed by the heavens above Oh, man... Look at that fuckin nutter inside his basket case And once… Hang on. Hang on. We need back story here. He came up in the 60's, the flower power age And every other week he had another banner to wave He had a plan to infiltrate the presidential suite But every time he tried they kicked his ass back on the street No one could believe it, they had to look away UGLY MOTHER FUCKER! He did well! W.A. : Don't worry about me sweetheart. I'm like a cat. I'll always wind up on my feet. Look at that ugly fucker Look at that ugly fucker Look at that ugly fucker Look at that ugly fucker Look at that ugly fucker Look at that ugly fucker JT : This is what Kearns has got me coin' nowadays... Look at that ugly fucker Look at that ugly fucker Look at that ugly fucker Look at that ugly fucker

THE DRIVE IN'S ON FIRE We've parked this baby blue Thunderbird for the last five nights
And I've found that cheese pizza with double feature is your biggest desire
From the moment the lion roars you're glued to every single scene
But there's no doubt about it - tonight we must live without it
I'm sad to say the drive-in's on fire
But down Lover's Lane the sky looks wonderful
And the dashboard's sweet refrain plays in living color
I know you love a mystery by low beam light
But they delayed the screening for another evening
 The drive-in's on fire
It's been so pleasing getting to know you
But I want to know you even more “I hold in my hand three matches from the stages of your fine, fine super fine career”… But down Lover's Lane the stars look wonderful
And the dashboard's sweet refrain sings in living color It gets so hot in here that the oxygen almost ignites
With only a murmur of Lana Turner and fuzzy dice on a wire
So in case we get home late we could say we ran out of gasoline
So we can stay in our bubble and get in trouble
 Yeah, the drive-in's on fire…

YOUR EFFERVESCENT PRESENCE

There's a feeling in my heart
 that I can't explain
I feel it taking over me
 when I hear your name

So many times I was lost in the undertone
 With just the perfect mime
 Of the bathroom mirror clone

I was much too blind Caught up in my rules
 You didn't roll my way
I thought that wasn't cool

You gave your time but my mood was monotone Until I changed my mind And the truth was set in stone
 Your effervescent presence
filling up my room
I swear your hot can make my cold melt down
In your effervescent presence
I can't stay immune
The way I sense you first
 Then you materialize
 I shouldn't be surprised

Sometimes you'd try to talk
but I would never hear Then you began to turn my head
 and alter the atmosphere

And now my heart’s in full blown flood When you’re here in flesh and blood The physical is real But it doesn't have the feel of...
 Your effervescent presence
filling up my room
I swear your hot can make my cold melt down
In your effervescent presence
 I can't stay immune
The way I feel you first

Then you materialize
It truly electrifies Then you materialize
 It truly electrifies
I shouldn't be surprised Your effervescent presence Your effervescent presence Your effervescent presence Your effervescent presence Your effervescent presence

SHADY'S TINTED KYLIX Oh when my body floats astray I weave through the railings past the wax coryfee Alone – a single chromosome I drift from low to high And all things are known when Shady’s tinted kylix fills my soul Oh as my ceiling spins in green I wanna analyze it but I escape the stream that soaks over all my bones Like tongues that slide on ice It’s all paraphrased when Shady’s tinted kylix fills my soul I’m overcome by the base amoeba I’m going out so I guess I’ll see ya Who knows exactly where I’ll go It’s hard to be precise But my spirit needs to stroll when Shady’s tinted kylix fills my soul Oh, Shady’s tinted kylix fills my soul Oh, oh, oh! Oh...

Release Me 05:28
RELEASE ME If I put my hands up so I can see the backs And bring down the thumbs together It’s like a painting with perspective it seems to go on and on forever A gateway to an undiscovered world view Release me My mirror image is my only friend Hand in hand with isolation It’s not enough to hear my echo send back a cry Believe me I’ve put an end to that rejected child He had enough of alienation Back me up and lead me into the wild I won’t mind If I could tumble through the looking glass in a graceful animation Like a time rip into another past an eternal circulation I’d find the secret to how I could both stay and go Release me My mirror image is my only friend Believe me I’ve put an end to that rejected child He had enough of alienation Back me up and lead me into the wild I won’t mind I won't mind Release me Release me Release me etc...

THE END OF THE BEGINNING You killed the blind man in your county Though he could see the fight ahead
Coming up the pike at lightning speed where warriors once tread
But you were too concerned with all the money that funded lies of your beliefs
And now for the first time you are helpless
 And there is no relief
 The end of the beginning
No more visions no more seeds The end of the beginning Life became the cancer To fulfill your spiritual needs
And though you - you still remember music
The sweetness singing in your my mind
Is now just a noise to mute the crying Don’t you wish that you were blind?
And maybe all will be forgiven someday
As the bigger picture finally comes clear
For now we all wait in our prisons Starving out our fears The end of the beginning
No more visions no more seeds The end of the beginning Life became the cancer to fulfill your spiritual needs
Yaw agnio gsi cram... Yeah, the time will come...

about

It started off with me just sending some musical ideas to Peter Kearns through the internet. If he liked an idea, he'd come up with a way to finish it and then once we agreed on a lyrical direction, the rest was a piece of cake. It doesn't matter if we are 10,000 miles away from each other. We are both disciplined enough to stick with an idea and see it to it's completion. So this is a collection of songs mostly written over a period of a year, recorded and mixed either on Long Island, NY or Christchurch, NZ. There are plenty of other musical morsels we've exchanged just waiting to see the light of day. Stay tuned for those. In the meanwhile, take a listen. A repeated listen if you are so inclined.
