Simpson's animator, Wes Archer actually gave me permission to use the voices of Jack Mac and Rad Boy Go.

8 tracks = December 85- January 86.

This comedic jazz piece has it's origins rooted in an unfinished AKAI tune called "Fagen's Screamin'". The intro from that tune was used in the AKAI song: "There's This Number". Eventually, I saw the big picture and this 8 track version was the results. After overdosing on roller coaster rides from our Florida trip in 85, I was hyped up and refreshed. When I came back to the bedroom studio I had a teeth load of musical ideas. The title was something that came off the top of my head as we we were going through Berwick Pennsylvania to pick up Paul Barkan. My sister and I (I can't vouge for Nick) had an uncomfortable stay there. Anyway, I always wanted to do an up tempo piece with walking bass. The Stravinsky/Fagen type chord changes I came up with were a good vehicle for that sort of style. The drum programming was a bitch as was playing everything
real time (especially the "latin" section which later influenced "Take Me Back To The Lodgings"). I left a few measures for a guitar solo in the original work mix. I thought I could get Gerry Palisi to flex his chops on it. I played it for him and he looked a little nervous. He took a cassette of it home and I never heard back. I didn't push the issue. Instead, I took some dialogue from the insane "MAC JAC AND RAD BOY GO!" cartoon (a fore runner of "Ren and Stimpy"?) and inserted it where the solo would have been. I winged it. The timing and attitude seemed to work. Unfortunately, if this piece is ever released publically I will probably get sued or have to pay a huge clearance fee. And so the story goes...
