The first half of this piece was loosely based on an ositinato found in a song Meryl Mathews co-wrote with Ike Carey (the name of which is "Sparks"). The whole affair sounded like something you might hear at the beginning of a Frank Zappa concert i.e. The Black Page (New-age version). It's also reminiscent of "All American Tortoise Tango" a piece I co-wrote with Gian DiMauro. Nonetheless it's all an illusion of something happening live. Something in one of my more successful dreams.

The second half is more pretend live stuff with cut up funky rhythms lifted from a Bernard Purdie drum lesson found on Youtube.
