My attempt to write something for Ed Palermo’s bassist Paul Adamy. I figured I had never written anything specifically for this low end instrument and I’ve always been keen on bass. I made several attempts from 2007 - 2009 but they had no direction. In 2010, after hearing the odd metered instrumental by Rich Stein called “Bela X2”, I was inspired to construct a 5/8 drum track and do something nasty on it. This is the result. Once I added piccolo to the mix it sounded to me like an outtake from the 70’s secret agent show Mission Impossible. Thus, it is dedicated to the man who wrote that work and other catchy themes, Lalo Schifrin.
