he ditty, "The Lovely Linda" that Sir Paul recorded on his first solo release "McCartney" in 1970 clearly inspired this song. I thought it would be a fun exercise to see if I could extend Paul's idea a bit and still make it meaningful to me. The lyrics tell the true story about the first girl I ever fell in love with in high school. Her name was Linda and we became friends but she was never interested in me in any romantic way. Two grades younger than me but oh so beautiful and quite an exceptional classical flute player. The implications of her not sharing the same feelings put me on the isolated path I've been on ever since. Yes, Susan DeVita (who I love) was officially my first girlfriend but our relationship got fractured after about six years. With Linda, the relationship didn't even get off the ground and I have never felt that intense feeling ever since. In fact, I can still taste that bitter, acidity taste in my mouth the day I got up the courage to ask her out. Weird moment.

Perhaps I will meet Linda in the afterlife and find out what and who she represented to me in this life. I really wanna know because she is an unforgettable character in my story.
