This song was originally recorded back in 2004 and situated right in the middle of the CD "It Wuz & Still Iz Late Octobra". At the time it was just a little ditty at the end of a montage. I remember feeling kind of nostalgic writing it as it's lyrics pertained to some mysterious prose I wrote for Nick DiMauro to read once upon the "8 track years". In fact, in 2005, I did send him the little tune and his response was a positive one. Nonetheless, I always felt that I should expand on the idea and give it a hook of some sort but nothing came up. So, there it resided at the end of said montage. Well, miraculously in 2016, I was inspired to revisit the tune and turn it into a full fledged song (in the conventional sense). Yes, another ten years have passed and so with it, many memories. Most of them like Woody Allen said in "Radio Days" keep getting dimmer and dimmer.

lyrics

30 YEARS PASS

It was Late Octobra when
Captain Tank came stumblin’ in
And he riled us of his conquests and his fears
And 30 years went past
Now I’m standin’ here alone
As memories rush over me
What for?... What for?

Late Octobra when the man was sober and agile
Late Octobra flying' in his Cobra in high style
Those times were so wild
The future had such promise
But he went astray
Nothing left today
What for?

Late Octobra when the man was sober and agile
Late Octobra when the only phone was his sun dial
And a big smile
Fall to Winter smooth transition turn about
'Till he sold us out
He sold us out!
