This song started off as an idea I came up with on guitar while talking to Susan DeVita over the phone. She came over a few days later and I played it for her. She liked it but felt that it needed a pre-chorus. She tried to direct me to her ideas by using the key of "1" and key of "2" etc.. I took me a while to figure out her notation but eventually I figured out what she meant. The root of the first chord would be "1" everything after that follows. We finished the song in an hour. Pretty commercial - wouldn't ya say? A song for an aspirin perhaps?

lyrics

KIND OF RELIEF

All of the problems from day to day
spinnin’ ‘round in the milky way
making you dizzy to your shoes...
It’s not easy to make it everyday on your own
It’s not easy but you don’t have to do it alone

The kind of relief that you need each day
is not as hard as it seems
The kind of relief that you need each day is love

All of the dreams that you’ve given up
spin around in your coffee cup
Spiraling visions toward the blues
It’s not easy to smile when you’re cryin’ inside
It’s not easy until you put all your defenses aside

The kind of relief that you need each day
is not as hard as it seems
The kind of relief that you need each day is love

The kind of relief that you need each day
is not as hard as it seems
The kind of relief that you need each day is love
The kind of relief that you need each day
is not as hard as it seems
The kind of relief that will come your way is love

It's like something that I read
It's like something someone said
"Honey from above."
Heard it on the radio
very very long ago,
“All you need is love”....

It's not easy to make it everyday on your own
It's not easy but you don’t have to do it alone

The kind of relief that you need each day
is not as hard as it seems
The kind of relief that you need each day is love
The kind of relief that you need each day
is not as hard as it seems
The kind of relief that will come your way is love etc...

180 sheets of love
