A major part of the Fuzzy Gray Logic sound is due to the type of chord changes Meryl always comes up with. This last piece epitomizes her compositional technique. In most of our collaborations you will find what we both termed as "X" chords. These are chords partially built on 4ths. As seen on the CD cover : F Bb C / G. What's great about these chords is their ambiguity. They can take you to any key or move you to another section without having to establish where you are heading. Also, as heard in this piece is our shared love for poly chords. One of my favorites can actually be found here : D/C. This I think, is what really bonds Meryl and I cosmically. Go ahead, call me crazy.
