This happy sounding tune was inspired by Hall & Oates', "Kiss On My List" and Brian Wilson's, "Our Sweet Love" (C major 7/G) and the outro of Frank Zappa's "Po-Jama People". It was the last song I recorded using the computer in conjunction with the 8-track machine via midi sync lock. It has references in it too esoteric for anybody but my sister and Nick DiMauro. In fact, my sister was an apprentice private investigator for a local company named Blackwell. Her job was to spy for a school principal, who suspected his wife was cheating on him. Sometimes my sister met her boss at a diner called THE PIONEER or in the parking lot of the IRS building. On occasion, (once I think) I helped her spy. I sat in an industrial park for 4 hours waiting for a 300 ZX to pull out of a parking space. It was a hellish summer day. I was sticky and annoyed. Not much happened. A UPS driver parked his delivery truck near some bushes and departed into a Cadillac with some gorgeous woman. A few hungry looking buzzards flew by and I thought about finishing this tune. Sometimes, Nick would spy with my sister. He was into ham radio back then and would communicate with her for hours. Once Laura, Nick and Dan Robinson crashed a party in Stony Brook that this cheatin' woman was attending. I don't think anything came of the whole deal. All I know is the guy who Laura was spying for never paid her in full. She soon attended Brooklyn College and it was definitely time for me to MOVE!!! Who would have guessed five years later Nick and I would work for this fellow, but this time spying on his new wife, the miracle mop-selling millionaire.

lyrics

MOVE!

Digital squirrels Digital squirrels Digital squirrels digi digi digi

You!
Never would suspect the kind of things I do
To see you on the stage in “Buddy’s” room
I go through maneuvers that would blow your mind
Lost a lot of money on it too...
Made myself a promise I don’t wanna break
I think that it’s time to make my move

Or maybe I should reconsider who you are
‘Cause somethin’s feeling wrong
Move!
I think I know you well enough but are we on the same line?

Well I...
I’ve watched you from my car outside the I.R.S.
I know the social aspects of your life
I’ve taped those conversations at the “Pioneer”
This seems the perfect time to make my move

Well maybe I’ve been overlooking some detail
‘cause something’s feeling wrong

Move!
I think we’d be compatible
You’re all I want and more!
But am I the one for you?

I Move!
But only after spying
What an evil thing to do!

Move!
But only after spying
What an evil thing - like an evil to do!

Move!
Yeah, I think we’d be compatible
You’re all I want and more!
But am I the one for you?

Move!
But only after spying
What an evil thing an evil to do!

Move!
I know we’d be compatible
You’re all I want and more etc... (ad lib like crazy)

Move! You gotta move along right along the edge
Yeah right along the box etc... Digital Squirrels (ad lib more until):

No mobile rash - No mobile rash –
“If she wants to she can have it I don’t care !”

Don’t Move…

Starwarzzzzz!
