My family had the misfortune of living across the street from neighbors who were always a pest. At least once a day a school kid was being attacked by their unruly saber toothed shepherd, or someone was being thrown out a screen door, or firing a gun, or screaming their balls off late at night because they wanted a divorce, or selling drugs on the corner where all the loud un-muffler-fied cars raced back and forth at 80 mph in a 30 mph speed zone or setting a bag of shit on fire on the porch of our next door neighbors because they were German or waking up at 4 in the morning to the annoying cackle of roosters and stray chickens or making our way through a dozen cars parked in front of our driveway for the daily cock fights. I remember my father running out the front door with a blowtorch threatening someone's boyfriend, and that time the little puppy ran across the street. all the choking and blood....UCK. It was interesting to say the least. Anyway, "HEDGE" is a pseudonym for a curly haired kid who was one of the prime instigators on the other side of the street. He got married when he was 16 and had no regard for anyone's peace or privacy.
