I have no measurable tolerance for drug or alcohol abuse. I enjoy once every ten years a bit of nitrous gas from the dentist or a hit from a whipped cream canister but basically my body says NO. Ok, that's me. I'm from Jupiter Moon. Now if someone wants to indulge in heavy chemical pleasures, go for it, just don't bother me. Unfortunately, I've noticed people "under the influence" tend to act pretty irresponsible and it affects my work schedule. I hate that. Maybe, when I'm on my deathbed, smelly, and barely able to move my left eye then feed me fun drugs. Experiment. Have a ball. Until then, I don't give a shit about that kind of recreation. This song lays it on the line. It started off as an Akai number, until the 8 track hit my bedroom. I played decent live drums on it. When I pick a subject to write about that angers me, I tend to be more inspired and music flows more freely. I think that's why this is one of the better "totally live" pieces I've ever performed. At the time of recording the Canadian rock group Rush was big. A few cuts from whatever album they had out in late 84 got a ton of progressive FM airplay. Some of the songs stuck in my ear. I think you can hear the influence in the drum and guitar parts, (check out Rush's "Tom Sawyer" or "Light By Light"). Those two little voices that sing with me are bogels summoned up from the box of fluff near the filing cabinet. They're not afraid to say anything. My sister and mother used to laugh or cringe after hear them coming through my bedroom walls. "Get the hell away from me!" can sound funny at first but after being repeated 47 times it makes a convincing case to call the funny farm wagon. They thought I was a possessed retard. Maybe they were correct. Only a nice life will tell. Oh yeah, some of the sound FX were actually samples from The Firesign Theater's absurdist political album "Waiting For The Electrician or Someone Like Him".

lyrics

NICE LIFE, NICE LIFE

Your avenue is full of nasty kinds of “animules”
You don’t care what type of filth they spew on my lawn

I don’t like your ethics

Nice Life
Nice Life
Drugs galoot for a social scene
And your wife
Is his wife
A cut out doll from a magazine

No blood for you
I don’t trust your sleazy point of view
For all I know I might contribute to your old age home
Why don’t you leave me alone?
I’ve got my own sickness to deal with
No time for your jokes
You don’t take to kindly to reason
Too busy sniffin’ coke!

Nice Life
Nice Life
Drugs galoot for a social fiend
And your knife
Is his knife
Turn my back and you’ll cut me clean

Cut his spleen
Cut his genes
Heavy paranoia in my “gelatine”

I hope you’re not the future ‘ cause if you are, I think I’ll slash my wrists

Nice Life
I hate it everyday

You’re nothing but a weasel
A tiny ring worm on my waist!
