Just what the title says. But wait, there's more. The live drum track was originally the foundation for an 8 track piece my sister never finished. I liked what I played so much I sleazily juxtaposed a Phil Collins inspired love song idea around it. I was more intrigued by the mirage horn samples than my voice at the time so I left it an instrumental. The horn arrangement is a mixture of Frank Zappa and the group Chicago. What was recorded of my sister's piece can be heard in the background of our "Road Rap Across The U.S.A." It's the angular one sporting a hefty JUNO 106 synth sound...ah yeah. Technical stuff: The toms were miked from inside the shell, thus an exquiste separation is achieved.

lyrics

OBLIGATORY MARRIAGES

Hi honey I’m home. Honey? Honey I’m home.
Honey? Hi hon.. Hey, what are you doing with that knife in your hand? Honey, what’s wrong? Hey. Hey! Put that down. Put that down!
Get that thing away from me!
Hey - hey Awwww!

Obligatory Marriages

Saint Cynic :
Marriage is the kind of institution where...
The woman and man find themselves buying a couch
and complaining about their sexual unfulfilled desires.

Tom Waits Impersonator :
Christ, you don’t know the meaning of heartbreak!
Take my old lady - married for fifteen years.
Never knew she cheated on the side with a bottle of Ex-lax™!
Christ, you don’t know the meaning!

Hired Babylon Sister Angels:
It looked so good on paper...............Ahggggggggg

Cliche wife complaining :
(under a poorly disguised version of “Here Comes The Bride”)
That’s the fifth time this week that you’ve come home late
after I’ve suffered over a hot stove!
I think there’s something going on!
You don’t find me attractive anymore.
I’m going home to mother!

Saint Cynic and the sympathetic choir of Obligeness:
Too bad for obligatory marriages
Obligatory marriages - TOO BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Under a poorly disguised version of “Love Will Keep Us Together”)
TW :
Christ, you were a tramp when I married ya and you’re still one!

Wife (sobbing) :
Well you’re the one who forced me under the steering wheel!
Ahh-haaa!
