Words and Music © 1988 by John Tabacco and Cathy Tabacco
Published by It Iz What It Iz Music (SESAC)

The basic foundation for this tune was written by my mother and I one boring evening. The scratch lyrics were then modified and I directed the subject matter toward an imaginary object and person who is always trying to put me down or sway me away from music. As you can see, I'm much too stubborn to listen to that crap. I started writing songs not for fame but for spiritual and meditative reasons. It still holds true. I receive ideas from the collective unconscious and it's my job to translate them on this plane. It says so in my existence contract. Does anybody care?
I'm taking bets on my 47th birthday.

Musically: Brian Wilson and Donald Fagen are paired off. I play a Gibson Les Paul as well as Paul Michael Barkan's Fender Bass and the screamingly high range solo was played on the Casio CZ5000. What is it about the solo that reminds me of a Ronnie Milsap tune? Please write in if ya know. The first one with a decent answer gets to stick an assortment of writing utensils in my hair and their own personally drawn subconscious doodle commemorating the event.

PAGE

Page:
I tore it up
The words i could not read again

Page:
Just tore it up
Tomorrow, i mettle with my pen
That page had everybody’s claim to fame
From A to Z but not my name
That page
I tore it up

Page:
Almost gave it up
Struck down in front of all my peers

Page:
You shook me up
Tried to convince me,
I’ve wasted all these years

No, Page
You’ll never make me quit the game
From now till death my love remains

Page
I won’t give it up
No Page I won’t give it up

Now Page was never the best of friends

In fact, I can’t remember when a friendly word graced my way
Never told me how the autocrats decide what’s great!

No page you’ll never make quit the game
From now till death my love remains

Page
I won’t give it up
No Page, I won’t give it up
No Page, I won’t give it up
I won’t give it up
