This was originally written for violinist Todd (Open up your mind - best done with a hammer.) Reynolds to sing, which he did in such a wonderfully maniacal way. Unfortunately, midway through the production we changed recording formats at Sonic Underground Studios and I could not sync up his vocals between the computer and the tape machine. At that point Todd had moved out of 21 Walnut Avenue (where we both lived), so I ended up re-recording it. I tried to copy Todd’s unique attitude and phrasing but of course I could never quite capture his rawness. So I enlisted Jim Dexter play some free wheeling, over the top guitar on it and that brought the piece to another crazy level. That version ended up on the CD "Straight From the Truancy Genes". Keyboardist Meryl Mathews liked the song and we performed it live at the Huntington Fall Festival with Fuzzy Gray Logic in 1994. That was a weird moment. Then again this is kind of a weird song. It talks about peace, yet it always sounds a bit angry to me.
