Saying Goodbye To Twisted Betsy & Old Son Of Sam

from Sans Lyrics Vol. 1 by John Tabacco

/

about

This is a simple orchestration of a Brian Wilsonish gospel tune I wrote in 1990, the lyrics of which dealt with a couple who enthusiastically glue themselves to a pew and set fire to the church, hoping to get God’s attention. They are ultimately reborn into another life time and find themselves eternally waiting on the line during the Xmas season at the motor vehicles building debating with a rancid smelling Santa Claus about the ethics behind the frenzied annihilation of the Gypsy Moth.

Instrumentation: Baritone horn, piano, cello and sleigh bells. Recorded in 1992.

This later became the basis for the 2012 Hurricane Sandy song : "Sleepless Tonight"
