Some of my colleagues have called this piece a parody on the kind of compositions you might find on a Steve Reich recording. Since I can’t keep still long enough for Steve’s brand of repetition to trance me into the astral plane, it’s probably not. It is however, excellent background music to do your taxes to, write music commentary or other mundane things like counting sperm if you’re so absurdly inclined.

A catchy ostinato on the electric piano part is the foundation of this work. Various oriental sounding motifs quietly find a vacancy on the premises weaving in and out. Eventually, it’s party time and our motifs do the “nasty” with one another over a funky variation of the basic foundation.
