about

Music by Peter Kearns - Lyrics by John Tabacco © 2012
Published by It Iz What It Iz Music (SESAC)

Most of these lyrics were written to the Jimmy Webb song "Wichita Lineman" . I thought it would be fun to do a short arrangement of that beautiful song and sing these words over them. It was supposed to be on
"It Wuz & Still Iz Late Octobra" but sadly, I could not get clearance.
I then thought maybe I should try to write a new melody for these lyrics but alas, I couldn’t hear anything fitting but the “lineman” song. Eventually I sent the words over to Peter Kearns with no background info. I told him to come up with some chords and melodies. He obliged and sent over a demo. I loved his chords, melody and production so much I decided to use his parts and mix as is with a few additional bits of ear candy. The finality and resignation of the song seems fitting as I turned fifty in 2011.

lyrics

THE END OF THE BEGINNING

You killed the blind man in your county
Though he could see the fight ahead

Coming up the pike at lightning speed where warriors once tread

But you were too concerned with all the money
that funded lies of your beliefs

And now for the first time you are helpless

And there is no relief

The end of the beginning

No more visions no more seeds
The end of the beginning
Life became the cancer
To fulfill your spiritual needs

And though you - you still remember music

The sweetness singing in your my mind

Is now just a noise to mute the crying
Don’t you wish that you were blind?

And maybe all will be forgiven someday

As the bigger picture finally comes clear

For now we all wait in our prisons
Starving out our fears

The end of the beginning

No more visions no more seeds
The end of the beginning
Life became the cancer to fulfill your spiritual needs

Yaw agnio gsi cram...

Yeah, the time will come...
