Nigey Lennon wrote this sea shanty while she was in the hospital recovering from a bout with cancer. This was the first version I did at Sonic Underground Studios on Long Island. She liked it but was looking for something more authentic and indicative of the style. Thus, we recorded another version in Los Angeles which actually featured some real pirates like Eric Weaver and guitarist Mike Keneally. It can be found on Nigey’s CD "Reinventing The Wheel". I added the Juno 106 synth part to this version a few years later and thought it would be funny to have each verse end with a different bass note. Does it work?
