The basic track for this piece was written for my sister's 1994 video "The Healthy Vegetarian". It was eventually re-orchestrated and put on the CD "Sans Lyrics Vol. 2 under the name "American Reggae Recipe". Then one day American Reggae Recipe" played in on my IPod in the car and I came up with (out of the blue), the "You take you for granted" bit. After a few months I couldn't get this melody and phrase out of my head. So, I figured it might be a good idea to sing over this track and make it into an actual catchy song instead of just an instrumental with slight Gershwin chord changes. I think I made the right move here. Trish Amendolia thought so.

lyrics

YOU TAKE ME FOR GRANTED

You take me for granted every time I’m by your side
You take me for granted it’s a fact I can’t deny
Your big idea of romance is to hold me tight and sneeze
You take me for granted and all I try to do is please…

Margret Inthrax : We all know the Bi-polar bear wears it's sealed moccasins in a snowstorm to sneak up on it's mate
But did you know the next closest thing to pulsating salmon attack is the dome button on a Milton Bradley "Trouble" game board?

JT : Borax!

Margret Inthrax : Bore-ass? Who said anything about Bore-ass?

(sneeze)

Although I have no fear of losing what I hold so dear
You make me second guess the reason for our togetherness

(What's the reason?)

Yeah, you take me for granted
Why do I deserve such luck?
Ugghh...

Margret Inthrax : I'm going out to buy some reptile dysfunction curtains.
Can get you anything to loosen up your pair of Easter hamburgers?

JT+ GD : I can't hold it!
