I fed the ChatGPT a detailed scenario and it spit out this story. I tweaked it a lot and in no time...

lyrics

Tachymeter Bezel was a beloved 90 year old figure at the pawn shop, where he managed the time piece section. His kind and helpful demeanor made him a favorite among customers. However, there was one question that had haunted him for years: Should a blind person wear a waterproof watch while taking a bath?
One day, Bezel's thoughts were interrupted when a blind customer approached him, asking about waterproof watches. Bezel was momentarily taken aback, unsure of how to respond. He had never encounter a visually impaired person. Instinctively, he gently placed the selection of waterproof timepieces on the counter and guided the customer's hands over each one. As the customer felt each watch, Bezel pondered the question more deeply. Was it a matter of personal preference or practical necessity? Did the customer need to keep track of time while bathing, or was it simply a convenience?
Bezel's thoughts drifted, and he found himself pondering the very nature of free will. Was his mind truly his own, or was he being controlled by some higher force that made him re-think this question for decades? Before he could delve deeper into these thoughts, the blind customer interrupted. "I'll buy this one," he said, selecting a sleek waterproof watch with a tactile dial that he could easily feel and use while bathing.
Bezel hesitated for a moment, then apologized and informed the customer that the watch was already sold. The buyer would be back later that night to pick it up. Strange. Bezel was never one to tell a lie but there it was.
The blind man sighed and pleaded with Bezel to reconsider, but to no avail. Bezel felt a twinge of guilt, but he couldn't explain why. The customer having given up all hope, made an about face with his seeing eye dog and slowly left the shop accidentally knocking over a pair of drum sticks balanced on an old snare drum.
As the day went on, Bezel found himself unable to shake the feeling that he had revealed a darker, suppressed indifference towards the needs and concerns of others. His mind raced with thoughts and questions, but he was abruptly interrupted by the onset of a fatal heart attack. As he clutched his chest, he muttered to himself, "I guess only time will tell," before succumbing to the inevitable.
In the end, Bezel's legacy lived on in the memories of those he had helped over the years. But the question that had plagued him for so long remained unanswered. Should a blind person wear a waterproof watch while taking a bath? The answer, it seemed, would forever remain a mystery.
