At the time of many of these recordings Nick DiMauro and I were listening to Donald Fagen's CD "Kamakiriad". Fagen had mentioned that on some of his songs he could not find a sax player who had the right kind of feel he was looking for in regards to soloing, so he'd play the sax solo himself on a synth. We found this baffling because you'd think a guy as well known and respected in the music world ( part of Steely Dan no less) could find and have any kind of player perform on his recordings. Huh? Maybe he was too busy to search one out? Well, he did get David Sanborn to play on his instrumental, "The Finer Things". So I guess that wasn't all true. Good old David Sanborn. Great player with a signature kind of riff we had no choice but to badly parody here. Ouch!

ND : Apparently saxophone is out of style anyway I mean, when Fagen starts sampling the sax...
JT : Yeah, really...
ND : And playing that as the solo...
JT : Well...
ND : Instead of an actual sax...
JT : Then we have another...
ND : Then...
JT : The another era...
ND : We're in another league
JT : Another era of things. Unless ya gonna be David Sanborn.
Bad imitation of David Sanborn riff : Bip ba... Bip bah (laughs)
ND : Yeah.
JT : bab bip bah bah bip!
ND / JT : Bah ba banka bip
JT : (laughs) David Sanborn ladies and gentlemen. Bip bah Bip!
ND : (laughs) That's our, that's our own imitation. We have a very fine line of David Sanborn rip offs.
JT : Yes.
